Eurobond has become the first corporate members, in Wales, of the Forum for the Built Environment. Eurobond is the UK’s number one designer and manufacturer of non-combustible cored, low risk composite cladding panels and this newly formed membership will create professional and commercial opportunities for seminars where Eurobond can share their knowledge and best practice with other members. The Forum for the Built Environment connects people who work in the built environment, in construction, commercial property and consulting. Established in 1946, the organisation was formerly known as the Faculty of Building and hosts events with tailored speakers offering a unique opportunity to meet other industry professionals.
“Across the construction industry we are all having to respond to a rapidly changing agenda,” said Richard Wigley, Marketing Manager from Eurobond, “whether that be in terms of environmental responsibility, legislative demands or changes in building practice. Being able to discuss key issues with likeminded industry peers is therefore invaluable, which is why we have taken up corporate membership of the FBE.”
As a member, Eurobond hosted their first event on May 22nd at the Park Plaza Hotel in Cardiff, titled ‘Roots to Grow, Wings to Fly’, with the aim of rolling out the seminars nationwide in the near future to include cities such as London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. The breakfast looked at current issues within the construction industry surrounding the environment and the type of metal envelope products currently used.
In attendance were Eurobond’s two ambassadors Lynn Davies CBE, Olympic Gold Medalist and Gareth Edwards CBE, rugby legend whose sporting achievements are a vivid example of what can be achieved with talent when combined with ambition, coaching and mentoring. The very qualities that Eurobond aspire to in the quest for excellence.
The event was hosted by Eurobond Laminates Limited and was open to Members of the Forum and non-members from the wider built environment community subject to invite. The event attracted contractors, architects, designers, project managers and quantity surveyors. The event was a great success and all who attended received a RIBA approved CPD and a copy of Eurobond's pre-qualification brochure.
