Timeline

1981  - Company started by Nick Williams assisted by Mike Ford and Alan Buchan, with a wealth of experience in the insulation industry and particularly with the panel industry at Parklite. Six employees operated the production line in Curran Road, Cardiff manufacturing polystyrene (EPS) cored panels using a heated vacuum platten press. British Steel was the supplier of all steel.
1982  - Eurobond produce first corporate brochure
1983  - Eurobond moves all its manufacturing and offices to a larger premises in Seawall Road, Cardiff
1986  - Eurobond enters the Contracting world by setting up Eurobond Contracts, this business was set up to counteract the dominance of manufacturer / installer companies in the food and cold storage industry
1987  - Purchased first steel decoiling line to decoil steel in house giving greater control and manufacturing flexibility
1988  - Successfully installed 2nd production line at Seawall Road factory supplied by Simipianti in Italy (Line 2) Capacity doubled and additional employees were taken on to cope with the extra demand. Eurobond take over additional units at Seawall Road with a view to installing a new production line and move Line 2 into a purpose designed facility for production of panels only
1989  - Launch of Novocheck Panel System - Eurobond's first stonewool cored fire resistant panel system, the system incorporated and elaborate jointing system and offered one hours fire resistance to BS 476 part 22
1990  - Eurobond gains BS5750 Approval re-inforcing the company as a quality focussed business. Launch of Firebond panel system in two densities Firebond R and Firebond L pioneering the use of lamella Rockwool cored panel system. The new system incorporated a cement particle board spline and offered up to two hours fire resistance to BS 476 part 22
1991  - Eurobond invests in a third production line from Manni in Italy, computer controls and PLC's were incorporated into the machinery design along with improved levels of material handling. Launch of Eurobond Designed Systems manufacturing Doors and Ancillaries for the food industry
1992  - Launch of Economy Door into the food industry, the low cost alternative for hygienic areas was an instant success with hundreds being sold in the first year
1993  - Fire at Sun Valley Foods involving combustible cored polyurethane panels leads to the tragic loss of two firefighters. Food industry starts looking seriously at alternative materials to EPS and PUR
1994  - Launch of Firebond LX panel system incorporating improved structural capacity and increased fire performance
1995  - Launch of Permalok jointing detail panel offering male and female jointing to improve installation times and to increase panel spans. Launch of Firebond LX panel system incorporating the new improved jointing system
1996  - Eurobond Contracts ends operation
1997  - RIBA hold Fire Risk of Sandwich panels increasing the profile of fire performance materials such as Eurobond's Firebond Panel
2000  - Eurobond commissioned a fourth production line producing both EPS and Rockwool panels continuously. Dr Gordon Cooke writes report on the fire safety issues for external cladding panels highlighting dangers of combustible materials. Corus, formerly known as British Steel, supplies Eurobond with all steel and Colorcoat finishes.
2001  - Firebond Doors launched offering fire resistance of up to one hour. Eurobond website re-launched with improved user friendly operation and interactivity. Eurobond exhibit and IKK in Germany promoting the company on a Global scale. Eurobond start exporting products to Australia and the Far East
2003  - £4million investment in new continuous production line supplied by Siemplkamp, giving the ability to produce Firemaster, Europanel and Rockspan on two of Europe's most technologically advanced production lines. Eurobond move to new premises in Wentloog on the outskirts of Cardiff. Eurobond Pacific Pty Ltd incorporated in Australia.
2004  - Eurobond ends production of polystyrene cored panels due to industry pressure on increased fire performance
2005  - Eurobond sells its shares in ATC to concentrate on production of non combustible StoneWool cored panels for internal fire walls, partitions, ceilings and external cladding panels
2006  - Eurobond agree deal with Tesco to supply 50% of the internal and external wall cladding panels on all its stores in the UK and Ireland
2007  - Eurobond extend its supply agreement with Tesco's to supply 100% of the internal and external wall cladding panels on all its stores in the UK and Ireland. This is also true for all Big Yellow Self Storage builds.
2008  - Eurobond is placing greater emphasis on marketing rather than just being a sales and manufacturing company. Launch of Rainspan our first rainscreeen support panel in collaboration with James and Taylor. Launched our first two RIBA approved CPD's which were created to re-educate the market in relation to fire and sustainability issues. Eurobond decided to re-brand the corporate image to create a brand that was more in line with where the company currently is and where we are going.
