Environmental Policy

We see the environment as tomorrow’s future and sustainability as our contribution to it.

At Eurobond, we are justifiably proud of our environmental record. When it comes to the environment, our composite panel range is entirely sustainable and 100% recyclable. We hope to inspire a new way of thinking through our tangible solutions and innovative thinking.

In 2007, we recycled a yearly average of 55 tonnes worth of materials, that is a 55% increase on 2006 and does not include recycled steel. Over the last 2 years, almost 1,100 tonnes of steel was sent back to Corus to be recycled and re-used to make new virgin products. Between 2006 and 2007, there has been a 9.8% reduction in general waste at Eurobond.

This closed loop recycling ensures that all Eurobond input materials have a high recycled content as we purchase materials from the same sources used to recycle (Corus and Rockwool). This is a powerful way of making a contribution to sustainable development by diverting materials from landfill and preserving natural resources.

A perfectly sustainable product would be one that delivers on 3 levels - design, performance and zero waste. We believe that we have that here at Eurobond throughout our insulated composite panel range.

Low Environmental Impact

Full Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) in the form of Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), demonstrate the low environmental impact of Eurobond’s steel faced composite panels.

With zero ozone depleting potential, zero global warming potential and no use of chemical blowing agents, the environmental impact is therefore significantly lower than for example, plastic foam PIR composite panels.

Eurobond’s ‘Totally Recyclable’ composite panels ensure that there is zero waste to landfill, contributing to a sustainable use of resources.

Green Dragon Award (Level 3)

Eurobond has gained recognition for effective environmental management through the implementation of the Green Dragon Environmental Assessment Method (EAM) and has achieved Grade Level 3, which demonstrates our commitment to Environmental Management.

Green Dragon is all about making a commitment to environmental management and a valuable resource that can be used by customers to verify the environmental credentials of their suppliers.

The standard is made up of five steps each incorporating the key elements of Planning, Taking Action, Checking Progress and Reviewing Achievements to realise continual environmental improvement.

Eurobond is using the Green Dragon EAM as a stepping stone to ISO 14001 accreditation.

BREEAM-Ready

With the environment and sustainability now playing a major role in building design, BREEAM tools have become a cornerstone of environmental assessment. Using LCA data, a BREEAM assessment evaluates against set criteria to provide an overall score which will fall within a band providing either a PASS, GOOD, VERY GOOD or EXCELLENT rating.

The environmental credentials of Eurobond product’s ensures that within the materials section of a BREEAM assessment, buildings are given an excellent chance of achieving a high rating.

Thermal Performance

All Eurobond composite panels and the relevant standard details have been thermally modelled, using the BRE approved finite element software package, TRISCO, to ensure full compliance with Building Regulations. Please refer to product specific technical manuals for further details.
